Pyrithiobac sodium belongs to the pyrimidinyl thiobenzoate chemical group and inhibits the acetolactate synthase (ALS) enzyme, which is required for the biosynthesis of branched-chain amino acids in plants. Blocking this enzyme halts cell division and growth in susceptible broad-leaved weeds. Pyrithiobac sodium is classified under HRAC/WSSA Group 2 (ALS inhibitors).
Pyrabin (Pyrithiobac Sodium 10% EC) is diluted in the recommended volume of water and applied as a post-emergence foliar spray in cotton, using standard knapsack or boom sprayers, following the approved product label.
